BairesDev
Introduction
BairesDev is the largest outsourcing company in Latin America and a leader in Nearshore Technology Solutions. With a robust team of over 3,000 engineers across 36 countries, and an impressive client roster including Google, Rolls-Royce, Johnson & Johnson, Pinterest, and ViacomCBS, BairesDev is known for hiring the top 1% of IT professionals. My role at BairesDev was to ensure the company's digital presence effectively attracted new clients while being equally appealing to top-tier professionals in the industry.
Main Challenge: Institutional Website Redesign
Given the scale and influence of BairesDev, any change to its digital assets is a sensitive matter. The company's digital ecosystem must cater to two distinct personas with differing objectives: clients and prospective employees. Each audience requires tailored content that clearly communicates BairesDev’s capabilities in fulfilling their unique needs. To address these requirements, my team and I focused on three core areas: a comprehensive main website featuring over 120 pages, the Daily Bundle blog with daily posts, and more than 80 targeted landing pages in various languages.
My Responsibilities
As a Specialist UX Designer, my responsibilities extended beyond guiding the Discovery and Delivery processes. I also mentored and supervised a team of three designers, ensuring that their work aligned with the project goals. In addition to design oversight, I played a crucial role in supervising the development of pages, offering support in both design and front-end coding.
Discovery Phase
Over nearly two years, we conducted multiple Discovery and Delivery cycles. These cycles were heavily informed by comprehensive interviews with stakeholders, customers, and employees to gain a deep understanding of their needs. A pivotal moment in our process was leveraging Google Analytics data to shift the mindset of stakeholders, driving the adoption of UX methodologies across BairesDev's digital properties.
The ongoing analysis of data allowed our Discovery process to be highly targeted, enabling us to address the core issues impacting the user experience on BairesDev's pages. This data-driven approach, coupled with close collaboration with the Marketing team, led to a significant improvement in page quality, as reflected in user feedback and usage statistics.
Delivery Phase
The Delivery phase involved iterative prototyping cycles, from low to high fidelity, to ensure that all stakeholders clearly understood the proposed designs. Collaboration with developers was essential to ensure the feasibility of our solutions, and to maintain alignment between design intent and technical implementation. This hands-on approach in both design and development phases was key to maintaining the high standards expected of BairesDev's digital presence.
Key Learnings
Working with Google Analytics on such a vast scale at BairesDev was incredibly valuable for my professional growth. It enhanced my ability to align expectations with multiple stakeholders, particularly at the C-level, and reinforced the importance of data-driven decision-making in UX design.
Seeing our team's designs in action, accessed by hundreds of thousands of users each month, and being able to track organic responses to changes in real-time, provided an invaluable feedback loop. This experience honed my skills in proposing data-backed design solutions and cemented my understanding of the impact of UX on large-scale digital platforms.
